I love Tiltrotor, for the shape and its capability, i admire XV-3, XV-15, V-22, BA- 609, Eagle Eye TR-918, V-247, V-280, I wish each plane is continually production, and have civil version too, and maybe the Eagle Eye convert into manned personal Tiltrotor, or just 4 seater version. And for air ambulance..

Autonomous=They couldn't find anyone with the balls to fly the damn thing. Anything glitches and it goes splat! LOL

Even though I have a fairly good grasp of aerodynamics and helicopter control fundamentals, I still find helicopters to be incredible contraptions.

Significant lift enhanced from low ceiling above the craft, and induced low pressure area above it -- reverse of ground effect. It's unclear that Atlas would have succeeded in still air, over an open tarmac, with only the sky above it. The low ceiling also restricted and impacted re-circulation patterns for each rotor at the center of the craft. I'm not sure why the AHS Sikorsky Prize team never questioned this, as it appears to be a carefully constructed breach of the original prize intent. This fact was carefully avoided in their ground effect modelling. Many people flying drones inside have already encountered the strong suction effect of getting to close to the ceiling ... which unlike ground effect is pretty stable, getting close to the ceiling rapidly increases lift until it impacts the ceiling uncontrollably. Google this: "quadcopter near ceilings" When the quadcopter is wider than the ceiling height by multiples, this additional lift is unavoidable.

the wing is structurally inadequate quite obviously and severely compromised by having so many ducts in it (Ryan vertifan style late 1950s tech ) and would have numerous unsurvivable failure modes if it ever made it into full scale use. It won't.

This is just amazing. (I’m going to ignore the video quality, it is what it is as the kids say today.) These craft may be strange looking, fragile, and so forth. The fact that they can get off the ground at all is a testament to the passion and hard work of their designers and everyone who worked on them. I congratulate them on their successes and wish them many more. As materials technology improves I expect more and more improvements. Even with the existing limitations at 71 I felt like a child again, grinning from ear to ear watching them fly!

This VTOL & flight concept is unique. At first I thought this was another one of these oddball planes, but this is different. However there is another type in this same space which is egg shaped, gas powered, not VTOL, and seems very practical.

"Anti-gravity" is a bullshit term as gravity doesn't exist! There's absolutely no propulsion of these machines, they're electromagnetic! Gravity doesn't exist only density!
